Alley 6 Rye Whiskey has a nose of vanilla, spice, and rye, with a palate of caramel. As one of the first 200 distilleries in the United States, Sonoma County Distilling Company in Rohnert Park started the trend in 2010. To achieve the appropriate alcohol content, distill twice. One of America's oldest brandy makers is Charbay Distillery in St. Helena. They offer a great brandy line that began in 1983 with Alambic Pot Still Brandy.
