There is a widespread belief that whiskey is a good choice for a cold-weather drink. Whiskey, on the other hand, is a great summer drink when paired with the correct mixers. After a long day, a well-crafted whiskey cocktail is a reward. But classic drinks can be too much at times. There are many reasons why many whiskey cocktails are difficult to make at the end of the day unless you are an experienced drink-slinger. A single concoction can contain as much alcohol as two or three standard drinks.
Summer whiskey drinks were the inspiration for this collection. At the end of the day, they're all excellent, but they won't put you to sleep. You can't go wrong with any of these. In terms of a summertime drink, they've got it all!
Bourbon and Georgia Peach Coca-Cola
-1-2 ounces Knob Creek Bourbon
-4-6 ounces of Georgia Peach Coca-Cola Served with a slice of fresh peach for garnish
First, pack ice into a highball glass, and then add the rest of the ingredients. Stir then serve.
The Bourbon Bloody Mary
-1-2 ounces of bourbon
-4oz Bloody Mary mix Worcestershire sauce, to taste, in large dashes. A few drops of the hot sauce.
-Pepper black and a kosher pickle spear should be used as garnishes.
Add all of the ingredients to a highball glass that has been filled with ice. Stir then serve.
The Whiskey Sour
-2 parts bourbon by Jim Beam
-3/4 parts lemon juice, freshly squeezed ½ part simple syrup
-A half portion of egg white (optional)
-Bitters of Angostura are used as a garnish.
In a shaker cup, combine the Jim Beam, the lemon juice, the simple syrup, and the egg white. Shake well.
If you're going to use the egg white, give the mixture a good dry-shake for about a minute and a half to break up the egg protein and make the white nice and foamy.
After adding ice to the shaker cup, give it another shake to ensure that everything is well chilled.
After straining, pour the mixture into a rocks glass or a coupe glass filled with fresh ice.
Bitters should be drizzled on top as a garnish.
The Mint Julep
-2.5 pieces Bourbon
-Four to five sprigs of mint leaves
-2 sugar cubes (or a half part simple syrup)
-A sprig of mint to serve as a garnish
To begin, take a cocktail glass and fill it with sugar or simple syrup. Next, add mint leaves to the glass.
The sugar will dissolve, and the oil and aroma of the mint will be released if you muddle it well.
First the bourbon, then the crushed ice should be added to the glass.
Continue to stir the liquid thoroughly until the glass turns frosty.
After you have garnished it with your mint sprig, you can then serve it.
The Algonquin Cocktail
-1.5 parts bourbon
-3/4 parts dry vermouth
-3/4 part pineapple juice
Shake the bourbon, dry vermouth, and pineapple juice in a cocktail shaker with ice.
Pour into a martini glass.
