Philippe Cartoux’s Côtes du Rhône, 60% Grenache, 20% Mourvèdre and 20% Syrah, all from large cement tanks.
Cherry fruit and a slight gameyness greet you on the nose. This hearty red comes into its own on the palate: fresh cherry and blackcurrant fruit are supported by fine and integrated tannins. A little pepperiness marks the finish. A very polished wine and one that would sing if partnered with slow roasted shoulder of lamb.
