The Cosmopolitan is more than just a drink for the ladies, and we’re here to prove it! Made by mixing vodka, Cointreau, lime juice, and cranberry juice, this light pink martini-style drink has style and pizzaz.
What is a Cosmopolitan drink?
This light and refreshing beverage is so delicious, you might never go back to your regular drink. By using top-shelf alcohol, you can make your Cosmopolitan into the best cocktail you’ve ever had. There is a big difference in the result if you are using cheap vodka or premium vodka. Since this cocktail is vodka-based, we recommend going for the good stuff this time.
How to make a Cosmopolitan
Using citron vodka will make your Cosmopolitan turn out perfectly sweet and delicious. We don’t recommend using a regular unflavored vodka for this recipe. We’re also using Cointreau instead of Triple Sec, which could lead to a sharp taste.
Fresh limes are imperative in this recipe. If you want to make it easy on yourself, invest in a citrus press to squeeze the fresh lime juice. Whatever you do, DON’T use the lime juice that comes in a bottle. It’s just not the same.
A little garnish will give your drink a finishing touch, and we recommend an orange peel for this. The orange peel also gives off a fresh citrus scent that you’ll appreciate when sipping a Cosmo.
